Payment & Refund Policy

What a credit is, when you are charged for one, and the cases where we refund a purchase.

Last updated: September 1, 2026

1.The short version

What this comes down to

Credits are prepaid access to model runs. You are charged when a prediction is delivered to you, so runs that fail or that you abandon cost nothing. Unused credits can be refunded within 14 days of purchase — ask from the payment itself in your billing history, and we work out the amount for you. Credits you have already spent cannot be refunded, including when you disagree with what the model returned, because an estimate being wrong is not a fault.

Payments are processed by Stripe. When you buy credits we send you to Stripe's own secure checkout page to enter your card. Your card number, expiry and CVC are typed into Stripe, not into SportzPRED — they never reach our servers, our code or our logs, and we could not store them if we wanted to. What comes back to us is the fact that a payment succeeded, the amount, and the card brand and last four digits, which is what you see in your billing history.

Your credits are added when Stripe confirms the payment, not when your browser returns to our site. That means a lost connection or a closed tab immediately after paying cannot cost you the credits you bought.

2.What a credit is

A credit is a prepaid unit of access to the SportzPRED models. Running any model costs 1 credit.

  • Credits are not money. They have no cash value, do not earn interest, and are not a deposit, stored-value instrument or payment method. They can be used only on this Service.
  • They are not transferable. Credits belong to the account that holds them and cannot be sold, gifted or moved to another account.
  • Credits you paid for do not expire. That covers both halves of a pack — the credits the price buys and the bonus credits it includes. They stay in your balance until you spend them.
  • Free credits expire 30 days after we grant them. The credits a new account starts with, and any promotional award, lapse 30 days from the day they were granted. Your wallet shows the date the next ones go.
This applies only to credits granted on or after August 25, 2026. Anything granted before that date was given under our previous wording, which said credits do not expire — so it does not, and never will. We said we would give notice before a change affected credits you already held; scoping it this way means no balance anyone holds today is touched at all.
  • Free credits are spent first. When you run a prediction we take it from your free credits before your paid ones. The credits with a deadline get used before the credits without one, which is the order that costs you least.
  • Free credits are not purchased. Credits we grant — the ones a new account starts with, or any promotional award — were never paid for, so they carry no refund value. Your history shows each grant separately for exactly this reason.

3.Prices and packs

Prices are in US dollars and shown before you confirm anything. Larger packs carry a lower per-credit price:

  • $1.0010 credits (10 predictions)
  • $5.0055 credits (55 predictions)
  • $10.00115 credits (115 predictions)
  • $20.00250 credits (250 predictions)

Tax may be added at checkout depending on where you are. Any such amount will be shown before you confirm, never afterwards.

We may change prices at any time, and a change can take effect without a new release of the site. The list above is read from the same price list the checkout charges from, so what you see here is what you would pay today. In every case the price shown on the confirmation screen is the price charged; if the two ever disagreed, the one you were shown before confirming is the one that binds us.

A change never affects credits you already hold, and never re-prices a purchase already made — your receipt records what was actually charged at the time, and editing a price does not rewrite it. Refunds are worked out from that record, not from today's price list.

4.When you are charged

A purchase is charged when you confirm it. Credits are added to your balance as soon as the payment is confirmed, and both the payment and the credits appear in your billing history.

When a credit is actually spent

A credit is deducted at the moment a completed prediction is delivered to you — not when you submit one. That distinction is deliberate and it is how the system genuinely works:

  • A run that fails costs nothing. If a model errors, times out or cannot produce a result, no credit is deducted.
  • A run you abandon costs nothing. If you close the page before the result is returned, you are not charged for it.
  • Follow-up questions are free. Changing a line, a minute total or a prop re-reads the simulation you already paid for. Only starting a new simulation costs a credit.

Every deduction is itemised in your prediction history with the model, what you asked for and when. If a charge appears there that you do not recognise, tell us — see below.

Why a balance can read below zero

Charging on delivery has one honest consequence. If you start several runs at once, each can pass the balance check before any of them has been charged, and the last of them can take you slightly below zero. We record what is owed rather than withhold a result you have already received.

A negative balance is not a debt we will invoice or pursue. It is settled automatically against the next credits you receive or buy, and no new run starts until the balance covers one. The only case in which we deliberately take a balance negative is a reversed or fraudulent payment, described below.

5.Refunds

What we will refund

  • Unused credits, within 14 days of purchase. Ask within 14 days and we will refund the unused portion of that purchase to the original payment method. How “unused” is measured is set out below.
  • Duplicate or accidental charges, in full.
  • Credits deducted in error — a run charged twice, or charged despite failing. Tell us and we will restore the credit; you do not need to prove it, we can see it in the ledger.
  • A sustained outage that stopped you using credits you had bought.

What we will not refund

Read this one carefully

We do not refund a prediction because you disagree with it, or because the outcome differed from it. Every SportzPRED output is a statistical estimate, not a statement of fact. A well-calibrated 60% is supposed to be wrong four times in ten — that is the model working, not failing. You accepted this when you created your account, and it is set out in clause 3 of the Terms and in the Responsible Use guidelines.

  • Credits already spent on predictions that were delivered to you.
  • Free or promotional credits, which were never paid for. If a purchase is refunded, any bonus credits granted with it are removed at the same time.
  • Losses of any kind from bets or decisions you made. SportzPRED is not a sportsbook, holds no stake in any wager, and cannot compensate one.
  • Accounts closed by us for a breach of the Terms — for example scraping the Service or sharing an account.

How much comes back

You never have to work this out or type a figure — the app computes it and shows you the exact amount before you ask for it. It is set out here so the number is not a mystery:

  • We count the whole pack, paid credits and bonus together. A pack's bonus is part of what the purchase delivered, so it is part of what a refund reverses.
  • The refundable quantity is the smaller of the pack's credits and your current balance. Buy 250 while holding 300 and at most 250 comes back, because 250 is all that purchase gave you. Buy 250 and hold 40 today and at most 40 comes back, because the rest is demonstrably spent. We do not try to work out which individual credits a prediction consumed — nothing records that — so we use the measure that cannot refund more than you are owed on either reading.
  • The money is that share of what you paid, rounded down to the cent, and the matching credits are removed from your balance at the same time. Neither side of that rounds in your favour, because a refund of almost everything must not leave you holding a full pack.
  • A purchase already refunded in part is only refundable for the remainder, and only one request can be open against a purchase at a time.

The figure you are shown is recomputed when the request is decided. If you spend credits in between, the amount can be lower by then, and we will tell you rather than pay out a number that has stopped being true.

6.Your statutory rights

Nothing here removes rights the law gives you, and where local consumer law is more generous than this policy, the law wins.

  • EU / UK. You normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. Because credits are usable immediately, you will be asked at checkout to agree that supply begins at once and to acknowledge that you lose the right to withdraw for the credits you then spend. Credits you have not spent stay refundable for the full 14 days regardless.
  • India. Refunds are handled under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 and its e-commerce rules, and are returned to the original payment method within the period those rules require.
  • Elsewhere. Local mandatory consumer protections apply in addition to this policy.

7.How to request a refund

Ask from the purchase itself. Open your billing history, find the payment, and use the refund option shown on it. You will see one of two things: the exact amount that can be refunded, or the reason this purchase cannot be — that it is outside the 14-day window, that its credits are spent, or that a request against it is already open. Both answers are useful, which is why we show the second rather than hiding the option.

You do not enter an amount. We calculate it from your ledger under the rules above and show it to you before you confirm; there is a box for saying what went wrong, and it is optional. Your request and its outcome then appear on that same page, so “did that go through?” is answerable where you asked.

Or email us at support@sportzpred.com from the address on your account, quoting the receipt reference. Use email for anything the form cannot see for itself — a duplicate charge, a credit deducted for a run that failed, an outage that stopped you spending what you bought — and for any purchase where you think the automatic answer is wrong. Neither route is worth more than the other.

  • We acknowledge within 2 business days.
  • We decide within 7 business days and tell you either way, with a reason.
  • A request that is plainly within policy — the whole pack still unspent, inside the 14 days, no repeat pattern — is marked as such when you file it and needs no judgement from us, only releasing. Anything else, a part-used pack included, is weighed by a person, which is what the seven days are for. Either way the payout itself is released by a named person and recorded, because money leaving should never be nobody's decision.
  • Approved refunds go back to the original payment method. How long it then takes to appear is your bank's or card issuer's timing, typically 5–10 business days, and is outside our control.
  • Refunded credits are removed from your balance at the same time. Your ledger will show the money returned and the credits withdrawn as one matching pair. We check our records against Stripe's so that a refund Stripe has paid cannot sit unrecorded here.

If we get it wrong, say so and a person will look at it again. We would rather resolve a disputed charge directly than have you go to your bank.

8.Chargebacks

Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. A chargeback costs us a fee whatever its outcome and takes weeks to resolve, where an email usually takes a day. We may suspend an account with an unresolved chargeback until it is settled — not as a penalty, but because we cannot supply a service we are simultaneously being told was not authorised.

9.Failed and disputed payments

If a payment is reversed, fails after credits were added, or is flagged as fraudulent, we may remove the corresponding credits from the balance. If that leaves the balance negative, no further predictions can run until it is settled. We will always tell you before doing this, unless we are prevented from doing so by the payment provider or by law.

10.Closing your account

You can close your account at any time by writing to privacy@sportzpred.com. Purchased credits unused at closure can be refunded if the purchase was within the 14-day window above; outside it, unused credits are forfeited on closure. Ask us before you close the account if you are unsure: closing it deletes your ledger, and a balance cannot be restored afterwards because the entries that add up to it are gone.

One exception, once purchases are possible: we must keep the record of a payment — what was bought, when, for how much and by whom — for as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after the account itself is deleted. That record is kept for the tax authority, is not used for anything else, and does not include your prediction history. See clause 8 of the Privacy Policy.
